The role of LGUs in Solid Waste Management. — Pursuant to the relevant provisions of R.A. No. 7160, otherwise known as the Local Government Code, the LGUs shall be primarily responsible for the implementation and enforcement of the provisions of this Act within their respective jurisdictions. R.A 9003 or the Ecological Solid Waste Management of 2000 is an act providing for an Ecological Solid Waste Management Program, Creating the necessary Institutional mechanisms and incentives, declaring certain acts prohibited and providing penalties, appropriating funds therefore, and for other purposes. The Evaluators were welcomed by our LCE, Hon. Manuel M. Escalante III, SB Mika Escalante, MLGOO Cherry Lacida, and OIC-MPDC Genevieve Arcobillas. Also present are the different stakeholders, the Student Government of MNHS and their teacher and representative from a private partner.
